Nature Therapy


In a fast paced and relentless world where gadgets prevail and tech is king, I would like to invite you home, to nature which is what you are. The call might be faint but hear it we must.

It is not just about you, or me, it is also about the generations that will follow us all and a call from the earth itself. Come home, slow down and please take care.

My journey back started after my son was born and I felt like I had totally lost my mojo. I was struggling to use the gym as I was sick of the narcissism, the mirrors, and the mainstream media blaring into my consciousness, but I knew I needed to exercise.

I had been spinning for years and was handed a road bike. My first time out was exhilarating and scary, but I kept going and developed quite the flair for it. That was in 2016 and I have cycled almost half the earths circumference so far, I plan to complete my journey around the earth in the next few years.

My relationship with my body had been extremely dire. I was raised in an abusive household and had had very few messages that were of a complimentary nature. I had worked on this for many years in the gyms and in personal counselling. I made progress, but nothing by comparison to the changes I made on my bike, in nature, with good people and an ever-increasing inner voice that was kind, encouraging and supportive.

So… I am passionate about combining therapy and exercise, in nature.

It is great to get fit for sure, but that can become a happy by product of learning to use your body in a way and in an environment where there is nobody to measure up against and no targets on the wall, just you and the miles or the hills. You can get to see what your body is capable of, away from the mirrors and the inner critic. It can be a chance to truly explore all the negative mind patterns that come up when you try to look after yourself in that way.

This therapy is for anyone who struggles in their relationship with their body. For people who have low self-esteem and have tried all the fad diets and exercise trends. For the people who have tried the gym and keep giving up because they did not feel good in that environment. For people who need a kind and experienced guide to help you through until exercise is something you truly look forward to and would not want to live without.

If you are not fit enough to start on a bike that is no problem, we can walk on the flats until you are ready to take to the breath-taking Mendip Hills.

I offer personally tailored sessions on foot or on bike and we do not just move; we talk therapeutically. You might be surprised what you can learn about yourself in this way.
